HELLO THERE! I'm a features writer for Yankee and Down East magazines specializing in quirky New England culture, which up here basically means all culture.

I've lived in Portland, Maine, most of my life, the third generation of my family to complain every winter that it just gets dark so damn early and every summer that this heat's getting to be a bit much. I cut my teeth in the hallowed (and sometimes harrowing) halls of alternative newspapers and have reported on everything from the city's endangered roller-set culture to how the tiny ash borer beetle could wipe out an esteemed Wabanaki art form. Plus, I've owned Bean boots since long before they were cool, even though they make my feet look enormous. So, real true Mainer. (Still curious? Here's more about me.)

Have an idea for an article? Hot damn! I'd love to hear from you! Drop me a line.
